Bichectomy, which can also be defined as cheek aesthetics, is the process of removing cheek fat to give the facial features a sharper appearance.
Bichectomy, which is a method frequently applied by those who want to obtain a V-type face, is generally preferred by people with a square and U-type face. In bichectomy surgery, also known as cheek thinning surgery, the buccal fat tissue on the cheeks is thinned by aesthetic surgical methods. The procedure, which is performed by making an incision of about 1 cm from the inside of the cheek, takes about half an hour and there is no incision on the skin surface as the intervention is done from the inside of the cheek. The operation takes about 45 minutes. It can be done in the hospital under general anesthesia as well as in the clinical setting with local anesthesia.
